TRASH CAN BE CASH

Opened since June 2009, IPC Recycling & Buy-Back Centre has been the convenient recyclable items drop off point for our community and others who want to do their part for the environment.

Recycling is the most important part of waste management to prevent landfills from getting bigger and larger. Recycling involves disposing of papers, plastics and other recyclable items to be reused. Items are recycled instead of being thrown away so they do not end up in a landfill. There will also be less needs for new materials - like new trees to be cut down - when items and goods are recycled. It is important for everyone to do our part to encourage recycling.

We offer humble buy-back on the following items ONLY (min 1kg). Kindly segregate your recyclables prior to visit.

BRING YOUR USED FLUORESCENT TUBES, LIGHT BULBS AND BATTERIES

IPC Recycling & Buy-Back Centre is also a collection point of your out-of-life mercury content light bulbs (also known as CFL - Compact Fluorescent Lamp), fluorescent tubes and batteries. CFL is hazardous to the enviroment which requires specific disposal and not to be disposed in solid waste landfills. Collected CFL is processed using The Bulb Eater Machine and will then sent to the waste management company - Kualiti Alam, for proper disposal.

REDUCE • REUSE • RECYCLE

The Three “R”s:
* Reduce : actions to reduce the production of items that could become waste.
* Reuse: actions to reuse a product or to give it a second life - be it of the same or different use.
* Recycle : the operations of collecting and processing to allow a new cycle of life.

Let’s waste wise and be committed to minimize our impact on Mother Earth. We will continue to reduce our energy consumption and drive environmental activities at IPC Shopping Centre.
